I visited Dr.Neil Perare during the lock down due to my pain in the feet and he listened to me patiently and he did a thorough investigation. He also explained my condition patiently and gave me lot of confidence to overcome my problem. He gave me enough information to understand my situation which can help in my treatment. Doctor is also very supportive and gave me personal care which is a great help to heal the problem especially in this COVID situation.
I am very grateful for his patience and his support and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good rheumatologist.

Since being in this Rheumatology clinic at King Georges Hospital Redbridge. I have always seen Dr Perera, and when his patients leave there happy. Gratefull I got to see him in December 2019 and boy was i happy when I Ieft the clinic. He LISTENED TO ME. Yes actually took the time to listen, and me feel like i wasnt stupid about being in pain. I want to change if i can to him being my Rheumatologist.

I have been seeing mr Neil Perera for approximately 18 months during this time he has always treated me with the utmost professionalism I recently attended a class meeting prior to my admission to King George’s for a total knee replacement I bumped into Neil and he asked me into his office and sat and talked to me even though I wasn’t there visiting his department, fantastic man really cares keep it up Neil

Dr Neil Perera is a Consultant Rheumatologist based in Ilford, Essex. He is currently practicing as a Substantive Consultant Rheumatologist at the King George Hospital in Ilford, Essex, part of the BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Perera graduated from University of Colombo Sri Lanka in 1992 and undertook his training in Sri Lanka. He joined his current hospital as a junior rheumatologist in 2005 and progressed to become a Substantive Consultant Rheumatologist, having obtained GMC specialist registration in Rheumatology.
Dr Perera investigates and treats all forms of rheumatological conditions and his areas of interests are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, SLE, gout and soft-tissue rheumatism such as fibromyalgia.
Dr Perera has many professional memberships including National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and Royal Osteoporosis Society.
Outside of his work, Dr Perera enjoys music and cricket. He is a musician, plays guitar at a professional level and has performed with renowned Sri Lankan singers who came on tour to perform in the UK.
